¡Defiende Nuestro Derecho a Decidir!
Estamos en pie de lucha y con el pecho más apretao’ que nunca; pero seguimos inquebrantables y bien puestas pa’ accionar con todo lo que venga. El portal Político, filtró un borrador que expresa que la mayoría de la Corte Suprema revocaría Roe v. Wade a la vez que en Puerto Rico ya se presentan alrededor de 13 proyectos de ley anti-aborto.
La ley federal que despenaliza el aborto y defiende el derecho a la intimidad le ha dado validez legal a otros casos que han adelantado derechos como:
• El derecho a casarse con una persona de cualquier género.
• El derecho a la relación confidencial médico-paciente.
• El derecho a decidir las prácticas sexuales consentidas que queremos llevar a cabo.
• El derecho a acceso a contracepción.
No podemos permitir la criminalización de nuestras decisiones reproductivas. El acceso al aborto debe ser seguro y accesible. Estamos ante un momento histórico y peligroso en el que millones de personas se verían obligadas a viajar cientos o incluso miles de kilómetros para hacerse una terminación de embarazo y donde peligrarían derechos adquiridos que hoy en día afectarían de manera directa a todas las personas.
Oportunamente se filtró este borrador, para que accionemos hoy, porque esto no es final y todavía podemos hacer mucho para evitar que se haga una realidad.
Lo que pase en los próximos días es fundamental. Necesitamos movilizar a nivel comunitario, nacional (sí, incluyéndote a ti desde la diáspora) y político. ¡Vamos a mostrar que la indignación de un pueblo no puede ser ignorada!
Por los pasados 43 años Taller Salud trabaja para garantizar la salud integral de las mujeres, sus familias y sus comunidades. Este es un momento para seguir adelantando nuestros derechos. Ni un solo retroceso, ni un solo paso atrás para proteger los derechos reproductivos y los derechos humanos de todes.

Defend your right to decide!
We are up in the fight and with our chests tighter than ever; but we remain unwavering and well placed to act with everything that comes. The United States Supreme Court struck down Roe v. Wade while in Puerto Rico around 13 anti-abortion bills are already presented.
The federal jurisprudence that decriminalizes abortion and defends the right to privacy has given legal validity to other cases that have advanced rights such as:

The right to marry a person of another skin color.

The right to use contraceptives.

The right to oral and anal sex between conscious adults.

The right to marry a person of any gender.

The right to a confidential doctor-patient relationship.
We are going through a human rights crisis, in which millions of people (if they have the resources) are being forced to travel hundreds or even thousands of miles to have a pregnancy terminated, where we see the regression of acquired rights and how it affects directly to all women and pregnant people and disproportionately to impoverished, racialized and vulnerable people.
We need to mobilize at the community, national (yes, including you from the diaspora) and political levels. We are going to show that the indignation of a people cannot be ignored!
For the past 43 years, Taller Salud has worked to guarantee the integral health of women, their families and their communities. This is a historic moment that deserves to protect the reproductive rights and human rights of everyone.

I support the right to decide!
Restricting safe abortion would result in a humanitarian and public health crisis where it would be the women and pregnant people (especially the most impoverished and visibly black) who would pay with their lives for the weight of a law based on religion and control of the body of women.
Between a state of emergency due to gender violence, inaccessibility to health services, lack of decent housing and food security, corruption left and right... we cannot explain when the true needs of our communities will work.
Where are the priorities of the people?
We call on the Senate to listen to the people, and make public policy based on the needs of citizens, instead of creating a public health crisis or community violence.
No to PS 693, no to PS 1084 and any other law that obstructs our access to sexual and reproductive health!

Let's end misinformation about abortion! Let's break the stigma!
💚 The effects and risks of the approval of anti-abortion measures would increase the social and economic inequalities of the people affected.
💚 The approval of anti-abortion measures would mean that the affected people have to use more resources, negatively impacting their economy and compromising their opportunities to decide on their own future.
💚 The creation of restrictions on the right to abortion does not reduce the need for pregnant women and people to terminate their pregnancies, but rather increases the health risks for them.
💚 Sexual and reproductive health has been recognized as an integral part of the Right to Health of Women and Girls in All Their Diversities; by institutions and actors of society at an international and national level, such as the World Health Organization, the University of Puerto Rico, among others.
💚 Anti-abortion measures go against Sexual Rights and Reproductive Rights that seek to guarantee "unimpeded access to a whole series of establishments, goods, services and information related to health".
💚 Its measures do not meet real public health needs, only 9% of abortions performed are for minors and less than 1% after 22 weeks of gestation.
💚 Young people need #IntegralSexualEducation to be able to have all the necessary information to exercise their autonomy in an informed manner.
💚 Access to contraception and protective methods is needed to avoid unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases.
