The #NOSON64 scandal
After the passage of Hurricane María in September 2017, the official version of the government of Puerto Rico established the number of people who died from the cyclone at 64.(see news)This conclusion was not based on any statistical calculation or protocol that would validate the number of related deaths and for too long an attempt was made to reduce this number.
Recently it was discovered that in reality some 4,645 people died as a result of the lack of protocols focused on the protection of the life of our population after the atmospheric attack. The study was conducted by professionals from Harvard University, with support from Carlos Albizu University faculty and students, and published in the New England Journal of Medicine on May 29.(see results here)
Faced with this irresponsibility and government negligence in providing reasonable scenarios of certainty, we have to be outraged, inform ourselves and act!
